There a lot of cherished moments in the world of a mom, but nary a one compares to my nighttime routine with my sons.
It starts off simple enough, pajamas, cuddles, stories, books….but oh, the music.
Ezekiel is a funny guy. He wants me to make up songs about everything. Which is kinda perfect, because I am a funny mom.
“UHM, MOM….ESCHER SONG PLEASE”
“Oh yes, of course…My name is Escher and I love to crawl, crawl, crawl around all day with my favorrrriteeeee brother!”
“MAMA SONG, NALA SONG, NI HAO SONG, SHOE SONG, SANTA SONG, GREG SONG, PRINCESS CAR SONG, FRIEND SONG”
I’m telling you, songs for days. My favorite is the NORMAN SONG (as in the movie PARAnorman. It goes a little something like this:
“Spooky Norman, Spooky Spooky Norman, Spooky Norman friends!”
Then Ezekiel is pleased and I rub his feet with oils and massage his legs…
which usually involves me also massaging his toys.
“OILS BUG, MAMA!”
Then I turn the lights off and he says
“MOM, I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.” and my heart swells out of my chest.
Escher loves it too, Fly Me To The Moon and a foot massage are all it takes for him to be happy ❤
